#509 Nesting Place

In the remains of a decaying apple tree is a small bird's nest.  The tree continued to give long after it yielded its last apples.  Fungi grew and the bark peeled back to reveal the wood beneath.  Carved from boxwood that grew in a West Virginia cemetery.  The tiny eye inlay is African Blackwood.
