Unglazed Porcelain
1.9 x 1.0 x 0.75 & 0.9 x 0.6 x 0.4 inches
These two frogs were an early exploration into using porcelain clay for small sculptural forms, and as netsuke and ojime. Sanded to produce a very smooth quality to the surface, much like polishing stone, they are surprisingly pleasant to touch. As porcelain is nearly completely vitrified, a bit of translucence can be perceived in good light.
